In this episode Anna L. and Anna M. chat with Brit Guerin, a licensed mental health counselor, as well as movement/wellness coach, about the intersection of mental health and physical health, and moving for wellness, rather than weight loss. We discuss:
Brit is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LCMHCA). She works with individuals and couples to enhance self-awareness, self-compassion, and quality of life. Her main therapeutic strategies are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and positive psychology. She believes that a mind that can learn to be more mindful, understanding, and positive is a mind that can overcome anything. Further, she works with people to build resilience and overcome stressors in order to feel lighter and happier. Every life comes with hardship, but it’s her mission to help others’ embrace the difficulties in order to find opportunity and growth. Brit is also co-founder of Current Wellness, a wellness center for physical and mental health in downtown Raleigh.
